FINALLY got it done today.

Messed with this bird for 2 1/2 hours this morning. Couldn't seal the deal due to you guessed it...HENS. They took him in the only direction I didn't have a shot. Backed out and planned to come back in the afternoon. I set up where he was roosted this morning in a tiny, maybe 8 acre woodlot and waited. About a hour later I see his fan coming. A couple clucks and soft yelps later and the little monster ate his lunch at 25 yards. 1 3/8" HOOKS, 9 1/4" paintbrush and a 25 POUNDS, 2 ounces. This has been one ROUGH season...

Thanks Strut. He should put the roaring 20s on top on O.G.. Had a hard time getting his spurs measured accurately as much as they curved. Hope it doesn't cause any strife...

Way to stick it out until the end, and that's one heck of a bird. The weight is incredible. Nice work!

Great bird, the reason he has them hooks is he was smart. Think about how many hunters have heard him gobble, only to be whipped by him.
Congrats.

Imagine if I'd shot him a month ago... Geez, he'd have been a porker. Lol
