Hiked into my favorite ridge. Silence.

Hiking out I decided to take the scenic route. Hit my box where "ole rattler" hangs..a bird I've heard here for 2 seasons. He immediately fired back!

Hit it again to pinpoint him and he fired back again.

Going to wait it out a while. I'd love to carry him to the truck.

Can't tell how hot he is or if they were just courtesy gobbles. We'll see what happens.

Good luck! The fiance and I were having breakfast on the porch this morning. Birds were absolutely hammering on the hill above us only 100 yards away and in the creek bottom across the road. 100+ gobbles from 615 to 645 between the 3 birds. Our tags are filled, so enjoyed just listening. Till next season...

He's about as hot as an ice cube. Lol

Won't gobble at clucking and purring. Hammers right back after a yelp series on the box.

As long as he does that much I will play the game. Killed many of his kin that couldn't take the silent treatment.

Funny part is he's between me and my truck. Probably 100-150yds from me and moves around but not a ton.

Didn't really have a plan, so just picked a place and went. Picked the wrong place, I guess... sat until 11, nothing seen, nothing heard. Couple that with yesterday's miss, and it was a pretty crappy ending to my season. I've had my opportunities, so I've only myself to blame.

Oh well, as Mauser has said many a time, 11 months until we get to do it again.

Another morning of no gobbling for me. I'm headed to the only place I have heard anything gobble in a week tomorrow morning hoping at least one of the birds in there wants to gobble and die on the last morning of the season. It wouldn't be the first time I killed one on the last morning. In fact the best bird I ever killed was on the last day a few years ago.

Good luck to everyone heading out in the morning.

The last day is the best! Always a joy to hunt the finale. No tags left here, but I'll be out tomorrow afternoon trying to play catch and release. Its been a fabulous spring season down in these parts of the Commonwealth. Sad to see it end.
