Had a great second week in Potter County. The hunting was VERY tough, the worst weather I have ever seen for the second week. Very warm, in the 60's Monday and Tuesdsy and too much rain but my wife and I were able to connect with great bucks. My nephew and his buddy were up for the second half of the first week and the begining of the second week and were able to connect with a nice buck, a doe and yote.
My wife's buck was the biggest of all!
My buck had 10" G2's, 15 1/2" inside spread and the tips of the main beams are 2 1/2" apart. Shot with a Tikka T3 in 30-06 with 150 grain ballistic tips at approx 75 yards.
Melissa's Buck. Shot with a Tikka T3 in 308 with 150 grain ballistic tips at approx 60 yards. A real brute with a 17 1/2" spread, 11" G2's and mass that continue's out the main beams
Here is a pic of my nephew's nice 8 point, Mike's yote and Melissa's buck. I shot mine later in the week.
A pic of the two bucks
My son was up with us and had a couple of misses. It was tough hunting and the deer wouldn't come out of the thicket. We are excited to head back up for flintlock and hopefully get my son's buck tag filled.
