Had my best day in the woods yet........

....didn't see any deer of course!!!

Hiked over 7 miles of a SGL, powerlines, clear cut edges, logging roads, etc.

Saw 1 porcupine, 6 grouse and 1 gobbler. If there are any deer left, they must have gone underground! LOL!

SGL up near the FE Walter Dam.

This is my GPS track log from today. Did find a really big buck rub and a ladder stand way in the back. Pretty sure the hunter probably comes in from the turnpike.

Re: Had my best day in the woods yet........

Friend of mine gets dear every year by walking with a 6 foot piece of string and some deer scent attached (tied to ankle). Stops and waits - buck following. It's in archery, so closer to rut, but maybe it would help especially since you are single stalking.

Good luck!
