Nice buck! Anything over 3 1/2 and it gets harder by visually checking the teeth. IMO, anything over 5 is a guess. Probably only 1% or less make it to that age. If I had to guess, just by the picture, 2 1/2.
a friend of mine shot an eight point in northern clinton on the first day and we knew it was old with the hunched back and scarred, beat up face. then when he looked in the mouth it had absolutely no teeth at all and had whole big acorns in his stomach. he decided to get it aged by the game commission and they aged it at 8.5 years old. those mountain buck know where to hide
