ticks

Well the day started good when a really big 4 point walked past me @ day break, then it all went downhill, I bumped a pack of deer but couldn’t get the cross hairs on any of them as they did the weave thru the laurel. So then the fog ruled in and I couldn’t see 10 feet for the next few hours, while I was taking my lunch break I looked down and my legs and noticed that they were covered with ticks, l spent the rest of the afternoon picking ticks off and doing the I think I have bugs in my hair scratch. I lost count @ 50 ticks. On the way out I found a dead doe, looked like it was gut shoot. Good luck all and watch for those little buggers

Re: ticks

Do you use Sawyers?

If you're having trouble hunting for deer,
don't wish things were easier;
wish you were smarter.

Re: ticks

I use sawyer spray... its works well but not for as long as advertised. Warm weather caused me to wear my brush pants today. I had sprayed them about 4 weeks ago and have washed them once since then. Not a single tick on my during bear season. Today, I pulled at least 20 off. Seems to work well for me for 3 weeks tops. After that its like its not even there.

Re: ticks

Deer are usually in herds not packs . . . just saying!

There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people asking questions.

Re: ticks

Use Sawyers, it works. I went crow hunting in the summer and pulled 5 ticks that were embedded in me and about 10 that were on my clothes. I went out and used that, nothing since then. I treat my clothes every couple of washes or every month.

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

Re: ticks

When you wash the clothes in sawyers i believe it is you have to respray because it wears off. During hunting season i shave all my hair off so i dont have to worry about finding ticks in my hair.

LOL. Extreme problems require extreme measures, I guess.

Found 4 ticks on myself after Saturday's hunt.
