I have always wanted to go to Montana, stay in a wall tent and do the hard core hunt. I just got back from trail creek lodge, awesome experience even if I can back with all my arrows clean. What a difference from hunting elk in Montana with a bow, to sitting out this AM in PA. Here are just a few of the pics. We had multiple encounters, just not close enough, or clean enough shot with the bow. If it was rifle season, would have a pic holding a huge bull. But that is the way it goes......
If you ever wanted to do a true hunt and challenge yourself, check out trail creek lodge in Montana. The price will not knock you over either.
Once you get elk hunting in your blood it is about all you think of. Nothing like September elk in the rocky mountains. As you say sitting in a PA treestand pales in comparison. Bet you can't wait to get back. I know I can't.
Bow is tough and the ultimate hunt.Just got back from Wyo. and had 4 bulls in during 6 days hunting diy.Rifle hunt we all would have filled tags but not with the bow.Did Mt. last year and the hunting is great out there as well.Bet your addicted to bowhunting elk now!!!
I LOVE hunting out west. Especially with a bow. Thanks for sharing your story and the pics. All hunts out there are a success.......even if you don't score. The experience and scenery are worth the journey.
