Any one have any recipes for a homemade scent away spray? I know I've seen some on here before but can't seem to find them now.

Re: Any homemade scentaway spray recipes??

I made this stuff last year. My only complaint is that I'll have baking soda buildup in the spray nozzle and clog it.

Homemade Scent Killer Recipe

- 1 used/clean plastic milk jug
- 1 large mixing bowl
- 16 oz. (2 cups) Peroxide (3%)
- 16 oz. (2 cups) Distilled Water
- ¼ cup baking soda
- 1 oz. unscented shampoo (Hunter’s shampoo)
- 1 spray bottle

Mix the peroxide, distilled water, baking soda, and shampoo in a large mixing bowl until baking soda dissolves, then pour the mixture into the milk jug and let sit. After letting the milk jug sit for a few days, pour some into the spray bottle and use as needed.
• Pressure will build up in the milk jug. Make sure you do not tighten the cap all the way allowing the pressure to escape.

Put the spray nozzle on a hydrogen peroxide bottle - the bottle needs to be opaque, as light breaks down the peroxide.

Does that recipe leave any residue on your clothes from the baking soda or fading from the peroxide?

That's pretty much the same recipe for skunk-spray removal. Used to use it on our dog when he got sprayed, and it worked pretty well.

yeah, it will give a very light dusty white look. Careful where you sparay it, I sprayed it inside my car one time and when it dried there thousands of white spots from all the droplets in the mist. As far as fading camo colors , I haven't noticed it. I just wish it wouldn't clog inside the spray nozzle so much

This really isnt a cover spray recipe but the morning of my hunts I take a shower with baking soda. Just dab a bit on a wet wash cloth and wipe away, then I add some to my hands and wash my hair with it. Does a good job to keep down odor.
