B&C club to convene world record scoring panel

The King buck from 2006 will finally have his day in court.....Fantastic deer. I followed this story when it broke in D&DH. It"s a shame how things went for this deer and how he was denied his rightful scoring panel. Glad to see it all coming to light now. Personally hoping it topples the Hanson buck!

I wish him luck and have no reason to have ill feelings toward his buck, but those g3's sure don't look like they are their "own separate tines", but more like split g'2s. In no way do they appear to be what is known as a "typical" tine growing DIRECTLY off the main beam, they are webbed.
Hopefully the scorers see it differently and rule him the new record holder

Very cool video. It doesn't matter to me how it's ruled but it does show the maticulous attention payed to the details. My hats of to the scorer.

I don't know.....it looks to me like the main beam is just that massive there.......it is so massive that the tines appear to be webbed.....when in fact they are not......I cant really see them as sharing a common base, as they are not really forked like most in that case are, growing an inch or two off of the main beam as one, then splitting....

Not sure any of that matters at this point, they have agreed to score him as a typical if I'm understanding all this correctly.

It looks as though the Hanson buck, a seemingly impossible record to break, is about to drop to number 2.

Can't wait to see the King buck at Cabelas when this is all said and done.

Where have you been? I had to work late... Oh these? Yeah, it was 'camo day' at work again .

I agree, it seems as though they are going to officially score it as a typical...........I am excited also, as I really dont care for Milo Hanson, and his ego that he got from the buck....

I understand what you're saying, but I really don't think most of us know what the "celebrities" in the hunting world are really like. If the King buck eclipses the Hansen buck, as soon as that happens people will be critical of Johnny King, starting with the fact that he sold his rack.

Re: B&C club to convene world record scoring panel

I read in the article that he had sold the rack, anyone know how much he got for it?

I'm more or less just curious, this is the first I've heard about this buck. Twenty years ago I subscribed to and read ALL the deer magazines and kept up with the latest stories and such. These days not so much...
