3A Game lands

I drew a 3A doe tag and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for game lands to hunt on. I am in 1B and it's getting harder to get a tag here so I put in for 2F and 3A as other choices.
Thanks,
Eric

Best I can figure is the closest one to you is 301. Don't know anything about that. You might best try to determine if you can get a long weekend, look at staying in Coudersport, or Roulette, or Wellsboro. SGL's close to those towns are much larger.

Wishing I was at camp!

There is also some SF land in 3A, not just SGLs.

Also public paper company lands.

Re: 3A Game lands

Thanks Fellers. Maybe check out SF land. I have been browsing the PAGC site and looking at game lands maps compared to Google maps satellite views. I see one with quite a few food plots.

Re: 3A Game lands

Bear in mind that 3A covers all of Potter and Tioga north of Rt. 6, plus the NE corner of McKean and NW corner of Bradford.

DCNR's site should show SF lands in 3A, using the boundary of Rt. 6 east to west, as a guide.

You can find the north/south boundaries of 3A in McKean and Bradford in the PGC Digest, but it appears you won't be going in those directions?

Re: 3A Game lands

tracker- check out all the public ANF ground just west of Bradford city up along the NY boarded. My brother works in the oil/gas patch over there and sees a ton of deer driving those well roads. It's thick as a dogs back but they are there. It's big woods and a lot of good bucks. You just need the time to find them. It's probably the closest to hunting in Maine I have found in PA. and watch the weather forecast. They get heavy lake effect and I have picks of snow as high as his f 250's hood! So a good pair of snowshoes maybe a good idea.
Here's a pic...

Here's a Cat D-6 after one night of lake effect...

Honesty is my only excuse.

Re: 3A Game lands

Denny and Longbeard,
Thanks for the input. I will look at Nat'l and State forest lands as well as game lands.
