Anyone one SGL 225 or 046 (Cocalico & Middle Creek

Anyone one SGL 225 or 046 (Cocalico & Middle Creek)?
Trying to decide between the two, 225 looks awesome but my spots are all like a mile in and up hill
046 is closer but not as many good looking spots.
Are they overcrowded for archery?
Thanks

eos I hunt SGL 46 a lot. I have harvested a deer off there every year for since 2005 when I moved back to Lancaster County. There are good areas and not so good. They timbered last year and that changed the deer patterns a little. There are 3 other gentlement I regularly see during archery but there is enough space for the amount of guys. To get to what I consider the "good" areas in 46 you are looking to go up hill too.

Never hunted 225. Hunt 46 when I can't get to camp in 4B. Plenty of deer, buck and doe, if you know where to look and can find the travel routes to and from the propagation area. I stay away the first week of rifle though. The late season is kind of nice, hunting pressure is not bad then.

hey guys, thanks for the input.
I was planning on going UpHill up the Elder's Run trail, either from Laurel or the other side and hunting maybe not far from the ruins if you know where they are.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!!

Be prepared to see lots of hikers, bikers and horseback riders along the trails in 46. Get a good topo map. Do some scouting of some of the spots away from the trails that have heavy cover.

Perry is spot on about hikers and horseback riders, but what I've really noticed is an increase in crossbow hunters. I won't tell you exactly where my favorite hunting spots are but I will say I prefer the north side of clear cuts in the mornings. They have historically produced and the ridges outside those clearcuts are really hot during the prerut. All my bucks in there have been killed between Oct 18th and the first Saturday in Nov.

Hey Rather, sounds good.
Let me talk to the wife and see what we have planned, maybe I can get away for a few hours this weekend.

I'll be out of town this weekend on a retreat with my church. But check your calendar and let me know what works. I can make weekdays work too.
