Ohio Archery Hunts

Anyone have any good reccommendations for Ohio fair chase archery hunts? I am going to be in the Youngstown, OH area over the next few months and but I am willing to travel a bit if the outfitter is worth it.

Only the owners of a GSP would truly understand, "If I fits, I sits".

I have lived in the Youngstown area in the past. You have a great deal of land close - I spent alot of time in the Berlin Lake area. Information from the ODNR about this location is found in the link above. I also have a contact that runs day hunts about 2 hrs from Youngstown, if you would like his info, shoot me a pm.

Good Luck.

Thank you both for your help. Skwirl, have you hunted any of Ohio? Any opinions?

Re: Ohio Archery Hunts

Ohio is ranked as the #4 state to kill a big buck, I think you will be ok.

I am headed out opening weekend of Ohio's archery, forgoing PA. Also headed out for a week end of October. All DIY, no outfitter.

What I say might not be the popular trend but at least Im not afraid to speak my mind!

I've hunted OH the last several years. Head down to the Wayne National Forest and do some scouting online and with maps. It's a beautiful area.

I am going out this year as well...going out for some combination of 10 days between November 8th thru the 25th and then again after the first week of december for a week or two. We are going to be camping on state game lands and doing it completely DIY...been doing alot of research and my buddy has been there last year its going to be a blast, hopefully we can put a big one down on camera I cannot wait!
