Sticker Shock

I have been looking into hunting Illinois next fall for an archery hunt. Found a couple farms to hunt in Pike and Adams county for what I'd consider "affordable" (less than $1200)and then the sticker shock came. An out of state license is $460! Holy cow! Maybe it's off to Ohio instead!!!

Re: Sticker Shock

Yup same here.Next time I go out of state it'll be Ohio. When you consider the cost of the liscense and the added fuel to get to illinois it's alot more expensive.IMHO you don't give up much in the way of the size of bucks either.

Re: Sticker Shock

I have a hunt booked in Ohio the first of October. I wasn's sure fo the non resident cost of a license but was pleasantly surprised that for the license and all of my tags, I will be out $175. Not bad at all.

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

Re: Sticker Shock

After similar "shock" last year spending $150+ for my Ohio tag, I had trouble believing I would pay for it again this year. It was my first time hunting out of state, and it hit me hard in the wallet being in school.
However, I realized this year you only live once, and my PA license costs me close to $100 as well, so why not go do it?
Whatever you choose good luck!
