Was sitting up against a tree waiting on some turkeys to make a move and caught a movement over my left shoulder. It was a 2 1/2 year buck with about 2 inches of velvet nub sticking above the hairline.
I saw the same thing myself the other day while waiting on some gobblers. Had a group of 3 little bucks, the best with maybe 3" on top cross the hill next to me. As soon as that smell of the new spring is gone it's right back to waiting for that crisp fall smell.
I have a few pics with some sporting a couple inches, and one real nice sized deer with four or five inches and some really thick bases. They all look thick in velvet, but it will be fun to try to watch this one grow.
