Nugent Strikes Again

Nope, not the recent unpleasantness with the Secret Service boys, for runnin' his yap. This is yet another misstep with game laws. Alaska, this time, although it happened about two years ago:

Every time he invokes the name of Fred Bear I want to...

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.

Not this Tool bag again! Hate is an understatement for this man! He is a Blackeye for all hunters! For all the good he does the negative really outshines the rest!

Re: Nugent Strikes Again

One of the first things you are advised of when hunting Alaska is the vast differences in regulations pertaining to what area you hunt. It is made clear when you buy your license and tags that it is your responsibility to read the regs. and understand them. I remember my first trip there, watching a gorgeous bull moose cross just 75 yards from me, finger on the trigger, and not shooting. Antlers had to be a certain width, and I could not be sure. The penalties and consequences far outweighed the gamble. To a guy like Ted, the consequence is writing a check and moving along. There is a little good in all men, but he continually gives sportsmen a black eye, then pays the tab. Maybe this will cause some of his flock to rethink their devotion.

The personification of a "lose cannon below deck". No pun intended.

Re: Nugent Strikes Again

If PA had this law, I wonder how many of us would be prosecuted?

I don't like Ted one bit, but this law, for whatever reason, seems a bit over the top.

Re: Nugent Strikes Again

Theres nothing over the top about it and its how it should be everywhere. Be responsible for your shooting is the message here.

Wonder how you would feel if you had access to two giant bucks and I came in, shot one, didnt recover it then shot the other.

What I say might not be the popular trend but at least Im not afraid to speak my mind!

When I shoot and dont recover an animal, that tag is done for the season regardless of the law.

Re: Nugent Strikes Again

They probably had Nugent in mind when they passed the law! The law was in place before Nugent got to Alaska. The statement that Nugent dedicated his life to ethical hunting is a real riot.

Hit a buck in 2006. Recovered it the day before rifle season. Tagged it, and I was done. Wasn't going to attempt buck hunting after I hit him.

Wonder what the reaction would be here if the PGC made a regulation like that? AR's and HR complaints would take a backseat REAL quick. LOL
