Family Tradition

This is what it's all about .
While making pushes on Saturday both my parents scored on bucks. My father Richard 73 with a nice basket 8 and my mother Betty 65 with the biggest buck of her life an 8pt. 17inches wide. Shared with sons, grandkids and a couple other friends and relatives. The echo from the shot hadn't even faded when my cousin was yelling on the radio that my mom shot a slammer. All she kept saying afterward was OH MY, OH MY and staring at her deer. Gonna have to make room on the wall. Only thing better is if he'd had browtines. Proud of both of them for sure !! [don't mind the date on the pics, oops from changing batteries]

Re: Family Tradition

Awesome. There are a lot of people out there who will never experience what it is like to be a hunter. We are blessed to have grown up in hunting families. I cannot even imagine what Saturdays in the fall and early winter would be like without hunting.

Re: Family Tradition

Glad they had a great season, congrats to both of them!

I'd rather be fishing or hunting!

Re: Family Tradition

She did at the time but dad's got one on the wall that's 19 wide and has 9pts. His best. That's only the second 8pt. he's ever shot most were 7s and 5s and smaller from long ago. He got the 9 a few years ago after my brother chased him all archery season. We set him up for him and he dropped him at daylight opening day. Mom also shot a small 8pt. that day. Was pretty festive that night.
