Whats the Law ?

Last evening I heard 3 shots down the valley, one then 2 about 1min later, like someone was following a hit deer. Then this morning about 8:00 I heard 2 shots down the valley again. Can you shoot a wounded deer on a Sunday ?

Nature can teach us alot.

Re: Whats the Law ?

No, but you can shoot target, crows or coyotes.....

I prefer my kid hunt and fish rather than steal and deal,

Re: Whats the Law ?

I would think it depends on the circumstances. If you shot one late afternoon on Sat and couldn,t find it that night and went out first thing Sunday and found it in a bad sufferin state and it was your deer then it would be fine(especially morally). If you waited till Monday, the deer would have suffered and the meat would be most likely spoiled and lost.If it wasn,t yours then hopefully you could find out who,s it was so they could claim it.

Re: Whats the Law ?

I think you could probably call the PGC and they would allow you to dispatch the animal or they may come and accompany you to the deer.

It could have been someone checking there gun to make sure it is on. I did that once before when I couldn't believe that I missed on Sat. After shooting it I came to the conclusion I must have bumped the scope once causing it to be off and then bumped it again after I missed the deer causing it to hit zero again.

Traditions only last if you pass them down to your kids!

Re: Whats the Law ?

I'm putting my 2 cents in and leaving so people that are going to criticize me have fun talking to yourself But if I shoot a deer on a saturday night, I can't find it, am up all night thinking about it, and I find it wounded early sunday suffering in a bed or struggling to walk around fataly wounded.. you best believe I will be dispatching that deer with whatever weapon it takes. Maybe illegal, but I have heart, and its morally right in the majority of peoples eyes.

You and tequila make me crazy!

Why? If its legal shooting hours your silly not to carry a weapon(legal) just in case the animal is still alive. And yes it can happen.
