Re: deer shot last night

Congrats. Honestly I don't know if I would eat it. I am very conservative though when it comes to food.

It was warm. Warmer than most nights in archery season.

God Bless the USA.

How cold was it in your area last night? Around me it was 65 degrees yesterday and 60 here as of 530am this morning I wouldnt eat the deer after it has been that warm over night.

55 overnight in my area of 4C, no way i'd be eating it after a full night of laying out, but as another said above, i'm pretty picky about my food.

Re: deer shot last night

I agree with some of the others that I would not hesitate to clean it and eat it. Just get it cold as fast as you can. If you'd see how a lot of butcher treat your deer you wouldn't think twice about eating it lol. It would be fine laying for 12 hours or so.
