what would u do?

I cant decide which of two places to hunt. One is on state game lands one on unposted private. The private has very thick cover. Any shot will be under 40 yards. Plus chance of being crowded by other hunters since its not posted. But, lots of buck sign. The game lands has much nicer setup, less deer sign but less chance of others hunting too close since its such a huge area. Would u hunt the private, smaller, easier to funnel deer, better chance of seeing deer all day private land with chance of seeing more deer with chance of not getting a clear shot or the public land with chance of not seeing nearly as many deer but if i do, its going to be a clearer shot. What would u do?

Hunt the thick stuff, when the shooting starts that's where the deer head to

Private place, as was stated the thick stuff is where the
deer will run to when the hunting starts. SGL the first
day is always crowded even if it's a big area. Less deer
also.

I'd rather be fishing or hunting!

Re: what would u do?

This really isn't a decision to make. Go to the private thick stuff. Surely there's a tree somewhere you can at least get a 10' ladder stand on. That 40 yds view will turn into much farther. Even if you can't get a stand up, you're better off finding a place you can see 40yds in every direction and hunting it. Many of my archery spots are like that.

Private land in the thick stuff. Be in there BEFORE anybody else and good things can happen!
