Re: Mon.4 Lunch

Nothing, except maybe some candy. I stay in my stand for almost 12 hrs. the first day and it doesn't bother me not to eat anything. It's the excitement of the day that keeps me from getting hungry. Actually, one of my favorite times to be in the stand is from 11-1 when everyone is going for lunch. Now the rest of the season is different, I may take food or walk out for lunch.

Re: Mon.4 Lunch

I've lost count of how many deer I've shot from my stand between 11 and 1, so I wouldn't think of leaving my stand, except to drag a deer of course. I take a couple of sandwiches (ham and cheese), apples and my wife's Christmas chocolate or M&M tollhouse cookies (aka hunting cookies.) My wife teases me about the amount of food I take (usually some comment like "are you going to eat or hunt?) I actually like to have food with me, keeps me occupied during period of deer inactivity and your body metabolizing food keeps you warmer (at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.) I usually have cookies to share with my hunting buddy Bob on the way home.

Sandwiches, apple, hot tea, snickers, jerky. I usually gain weight during deer season.
