Warm and wet

Well lets get this started, the seven day is showing warm 50's plus and a good chance of rain. Oh well nothing I can do about it so no sense in complaining.

Re: Warm and wet

I'll be "guiding" for mom, since I bagged my buck in archery and have no doe tags for our lease area. But, she bought herself a deluxe 2 man ladder stand from Dicks this year, and it has a roof and canopy over it. Let her rip! LOL I'd rather not hunt in the rain though. We're on top of a mountain and normally, when it rains, we're in the fog/clouds and can't see squat.

Warm and wet. Good title. Caught my eye. The weather won't bother me. Will be inside my office.

God Bless the USA.

Re: Warm and wet

I'd had hopes of the forecast changing significantly from the long ranges last week (still time for it) but the big 3 (Accuweather, Wunderground, Intellicast) are all showing practically the same thing for the first day; temps in the 50's with 40-50% chance of rain. Oh well. I just need to make sure I don't forget the tree umbrella...

Bad first days make for better subsequent days. Glass half full approach.

Re: Warm and wet

Nice positive spin Fleroo...

Since my wife only has the opener and Saturdays, I am hoping for the best, but trust me when I say...she is going to hunt in ANYTHING, I could not keep her home if I tried. Her first hunt of the year and she wants in on the action..lol.

Re: Warm and wet

I killed my first buck and my biggest buck to date in the rain...Although not 50+degrees. The $20 tree umbrella kicks butt! I use one often!

Re: Warm and wet

Sounds like the conditions will be exactly like the opening of rifle 2 years ago. Rain and in the 50's. Dont much care for hunting in the rain, but will def do it. Whacked a basket 8 coming out of his bedding thicket 2 years ago on the opener at first light, was the first shot of the day...he came out w/ about 8 doe and after sitting in the dark and pouring rain for an hour before light I didnt even wait to see what else exited the thicket, just counted 4 on the one side and squeezed a round off...he dropped where he stood at 20 yards.

Goin in early and stayin late.
