we're ready for next monday. rain or shine

after sitting through all day downpours with one of my favorite guns getting soaked in years past, i decided i needed an all-weather gun with stainless and laminate. and being a fan of the shorties, i began several years ago to find some guns for me and my growing boys to put some zing in our hunts. and now my twin boys are almost as big as me so they can use full size guns, which is great. they started with the ruger scout guns and i have gotten them into my love of pumpguns. so this year we each have a all-weather gun and a nice weather pumpgun. we got them out today and burned through a bunch of ammo in the backyard with my brother. here they are left to right:

ruger 77 frontier 338 fed (twin #1)
marlin 336SDT 30/30 (me)
ruger 77 frontier 7/08 (twin #2)
rem 7600 carbine 35 whelen (me of course)
rem 760 carbine 30/06 (twin #1)
rem 7600 carbine 35 rem (twin #2)

My brother and i chuckled when we reminisced about the guns we started with back in the 60's and early 70's. singleshot shotguns with rifle slugs, 218 bee's, whatever my dad could muster for us. i think my dad would just shake his head when he saw the collection of guns we take to camp for deer hunting.
Love the shorties. Look out Fulton County deer!!

Nice looking guns. Good luck to you all!!! I do have a question. Why are the scopes on a couple of the guns mounted so far forward? I have never seen that. Just curious

good question. those are scout scopes. they are specially made for extended eye relief. they are only 2.5x but are really nice for quick shooting with both eyes open. those guns are made with a rib for mounting the scope scout style or regular.

Thanks for clarifying!!! That's interesting and something that sounds to be very beneficial.
