I finally think I saw a Booner.

Yesterday I was driving my car here in Lebanon county when my eyes just about popped out of my head. I saw what I believe is at least a 170" B&C whitetail buck chasing a doe. He looked to be a ten pointer with heavy mass and a 20" spread and looked to have 15" G2's. As soon as I got home I started paging through my hunting magazines looking at 150-170" whitetails and I honestly felt he was a better buck than the ones I was looking at in my mags and he's right here in little old Lebanon county. I've been in forty states and have seen deer in probably every one of them and I have never seen this bucks equal. I'm not sure I've seen a mule deer as big! I never believed a buck like that lived around here but since I have permission to hunt a farm less than a half mile from where I saw him rifle season just got a lot more exciting for me.

Or a boner. Of course if you get him it will be a boon.

If I get him I will flip out! I'll be like Stan Potts telling his cameraman "please, just give me a minute" and then I'll break out into tears! I shot a 125" buck last year and it doesn't seem to me that it's even half of the buck I saw yesterday.

Re: I finally think I saw a Booner.

Being in the woods all the time, I have seen some bucks that I am sure would break the PA state record. I can tell you with certainty that I have never seen the same one twice. Call me crazy, but those big boys know what it means when they have been spotted, and they disappear for good.

You are right about that JtL. He didn't get that big by showing himself to hunters.

Moose-
I live around the Pine Grove area. Not to far. I have seen some very, very large buck taken out of that area. Last year my good friend shot a 158" 10 point with a 20.5" INSIDE spread. This thing was massive and big-bodied. They are definitely out there! Just have to dig deep to find em'...that guy was 3 miles in in the swamp. Good luck taggin out on that guy!

Thats the key to killing giant bucks out of the rut. Find the nastiest, most out of the way spot that no one goes into because it is too thick. Thats where to hunt for a true giant. Well, there or in the middle of a developement that can't be hunted. LOL
