I arrived home late Wed. from my bowhunting trip to Kansas.
I was there from the 29th of Oct. to the 9th of Nov.
I started hunting Monday Oct.31 in the evening. I saw 2 bucks that sit, one was a monster and I could not get a shot. He was coming to me and there was a young buck in front of my stand and when he saw the bigger one coming he ran away from me and the big boy gave chase, i never saw him again.
Tues. I saw nothing. Wed. it rained and the wind was real bad. Thurs the rut starting kicking iin and I saw 2 bucks again and the one stayed around my decoy for half an hour until he left. I had a good buck come in behind me, he caught me off guard and til I got turned around to shoot he winded me and tore outa there. Friday morning I saw 3 bucks no shooter outa them. Friday evening I shot one. I was in the same stand as I was on Monday thinking the big one would show up. I saw 2 small bucks cruising by and I let them walk. then at 5:45 here comes this 10pointer and I looked him over and thought I'm gonna shoot you if I get a shot. As he came walking by I made the BAAAAP noise and he stopped perfect at 25yds I let the arrow fly and the muzzy went through the shoulder area and he ran about 75yds and fell over
I did manage to also shoot a coyote one evening. He was out there making all kinds of noises, howling, barking etc. so I figured you come by here I'm gonna shoot you for scaring all the deer. He came right to my stand and saw me and ran out in front of me and I did my best "bark" to stop him and at 30yds he did, the muzzy found its mark. He ran about 35 yds and flipped over in the prairie grass.
Here are some pics:
