orange

I know, its 250 inches squared while moving but for rifle deer season are you required to wear it in the stand? Also do you have to wear any Orange at anytime on private land? I looked in the book none of this was mentioned

If your ever stressed just take a day off and go fishing.

Re: orange

Not being sarcastic, did you take a Hunter ed class?

You must wear 250 sq inches upon the head chest and back combined, visible in 360 degree arc at ALL times during the general firearms season, even on private property

Re: orange

Fluorescent orange requirements are exactly the same on private land as on public.

Page 45 lets you know that during regular and special seasons all deer hunters MUST wear 250 sq. inches of orange. The exceptions are then listed below for archery, muzzleloader, etc.

They don't address removal of orange by rifle hunters on stand because it is not permitted.

Re: orange

I took the safety course but an independent study I didn't miss a question I ask because I have only been archery hunting and always took it off. I used to live in Louisiana and there we never wore Orange in the stands Idk if it was a law or not seeing as ill be hunting sgl also I don't wanna do something stupid and make a huge mistake. In the book it said orange must be worn when moving from an hour before day light to an hour after day light. Thanks for the answers even though it was a stupid question

If your ever stressed just take a day off and go fishing.

Re: orange

No questions are stupid when it comes to safety.

I am 61 Yr old and have been hunting since I was 12 and I just printed out the Flourescent orange requirement pages for myself. I also made a calendar of the seasons and where they overlap with archery, so I know I am covered.

This is the best piece of advice I have heard in a while. Everyone else gave the correct "book" answers but Rich gave some really good common sense advice.
