If it's not photoshopped, it's similar to the way many hunters take their pictures with a buck. ie., the buck in the foreground and the hunters face way behind. It makes a 14 inch inside spread look like it's 24 inches.
In this case, look at where the bucks hind feet are. Way in front of the doe's head. Meaning he is close to the camera, she is way back, making what is probably a fat buck, look even larger.
