But to make is more simplistic it’s 142 tags available divided into 30,000. So roughly a .0047333% chance.

But you can’t win unless you apply.

142 tags out of 30,000 applicants would be .473% but that is if each applicant had 1 point. There are probably 10K applicants that will have 17 points, and then you have those with 16 points and so on. So using the PGC chart above for bulls in 2018 you have about a .013% chance.
My fault I left it in decimal form and still added the percent sign. But yeah I said to simplify it I did it that way and to get an accurate percent you would have to add in everyone bonus points for an accurate individual chance.

Well.......I applied. Guess it's just a little bit of an investment every year to hopefully get lucky once in my lifetime.

I'm in!

Keep putting in the applications, it took me 17 years. That was only $170.00 investment. You never know, some get drawn the first time, some it takes a while but you can't win if you don't play..

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

This is the first year that I have applied also, is there a live feed of the drawing that I can watch online?

Yes the day of. Then "hopefully" someone is kind enough to post the names since they don't put the draw on youtube right away for some reason.

Smile bonus points

is there a way to find out how many actual bonus points a hunter has accumulated? I lost count of how many times I "applied" for a tag. And while on the subject how much does PGC get each year from elk tag applications?

Go here https://www.pa.wildlifelicense.com/start.php Then follow the prompts to check accumulated points. See below:

https://www.pa.wildlifelicense.com/start.php
- Click top option
- Scroll to bottom and click "start here"
- Pick whichever info you have driver license, CID, etc
- Fill out info, click continue
- Click Certify you're a resident
- After reviewwing your info click "Check on the status of an Antlerless Deer or Elk Application." Then continue.
- This screen will show accumulated points/anterless apps(not in yet)

Hope this helps!

142 tags total available for 2019 season.
