This poll suggests that the vast majority are going to hunt the Saturday opener. When compared to those that are in favor vs opposed to the change of the day the season opens it paints a really clear picture that many are opposed to the change, but they're going hunting....essentially, it's emotional reaction to the change but doesn't matter in the end anyway.

You need to get over it. I get so sick of hearing about traditions. No one cares about your traditions.

The pgc only cares about managment of the wildlife, maxing out opportunity for the hunters to be in the field to get the harvest they need.
The Saturday start on that Saturday. Statistics from department of labor shows is given off more then any other Saturday. Unless Christmas day or new year's day or fourth of July lands on a Saturday.

It makes sense to start it that day. No doubt.

No one can make a logical argument that it doesn't give more opportunity.
Thanksgiving is better yet for all the same reasons. Screw traditions.You have more opportunity. It makes sense. No doubt.
Thanksgiving is better yet.

I said from Square One, Let's see how many hunters stop hunting due to the Saturday opener.
My prediction was nil to none. If you Really like to Hunt you will Hunt.

I agree completely, but the exact same thing could be said for the Monday opener.

If you're having trouble hunting for deer,
don't wish things were easier;
wish you were smarter.

You're not wrong! The majority of hunters have been making it work out one way or another on that Monday for a long time. I'm sure the same will become true of Saturday in due time.
