Deer are spotty and you have to find the pockets of them. If you find the pockets of them you will do ok. If there isn't a good mast crop the bears will move off the mountain down in to the farm land to feed. I didnt hunt it last year but in the years past this is what I have seen. Once deer season starts the bears find the gut piles and feed on them from what I have seen in the past. SGL #42 is a big area and there are some good Laurel thickets that seem to hold the deer and the bears. If you stick close to them around the oak flats you will find the deer.
