Been reading about this buck, just glad the poacher was caught.

The older I get the better I was.

Many posts were removed because they were attacking the poacher's religion, rather than sticking to the fact of the bust. Any further commentary that is deemed bashing of all Amish will be removed, and the poster's posting privileges suspended.

Funny story here. When I killed my buck on public land down at camp this year. I recovered him the next morning as the shot wasn't the best. As I was bringing up the 2nd load to the truck the sun was shining in my eyes but I could see someone standing in the road. It surprised me a little as no one was parked by the truck when I took up the first load. Anyway it turned out to be a young Amish guy that was out for a hike as he had already filled his buck tag. He congratulated me and was checking out the buck. As we stood their chit chating he had asked me how the hunting was. I told him I had hunted all week from daylight to dark without seeing a buck until I got this one. He told me that I had to have alot of self-discipline to hunt like that.

So when I got home I told my wife that I am so good that even an amish guy said I had alot of self-discipline. LOL.

Traditions only last if you pass them down to your kids!

No they don't mess around. I have a guy from my community that has done jail time there. It was actually for trespassing and he went out 2 weekends in a row, checked him self in and did the time.
