NY Rifle Season

Heading up to my camp near Hornell to hunt for the last time this morning, the new owner takes over in 2019. A lot of great memories and deer killed over the years, but time to move on. Really hoping to end this chapter on a high note. May have to walk the gear in from the road to the shack we stay in, not sure how much snow is on the ground.

Good luck to all!

Drive safe UN reports up that way are from 8 to 10 in. Best of luck on your hunt.

Good Luck

Good luck Nick, I'll be out also. I lost a property in NY too and I feel your pain. Mine was the best property ever (NY or PA), but I'm thankful for all the excellent years I had on it.

I'll be up in ny tomorrow on state land. The spot I like to get into is way back in and on top of the mountain. I have never seen another person up there but it's where all the deer come to once the people start moving. I planned on going this morning to finish up archery season but don't get the truck back till this afternoon noon and not taking g wife's car do to all the snow. For everyone going to ny be safe. I'm only 20 min from the line and we got 7 inches and roads are slick. Be safe and good luck to all.

I'm headed to my camp in North Clymer today, 10 inches of snow according to the camp next door. Bittersweet this year since my Dad died in August, first season without him. Hard to describe. Good luck to all.

Sadly most of my life has been wasted, but the rest I spent hunting, fishing, and trapping...

Some really nice bucks in Steuben south of Troupsburg, just over the line from my place in PA. A few cousins will be out there after 'em tomorrow.

A little slow the first day, saw one doe who picked up my wind and turned around. I checked her back trail on the way out an at least she wasn't being followed. I saw two small buck the second day and a couple doe, still nothing I was after. I saw one doe and a button buck yesterday, I never had the safety off. It was beautiful in the woods but the deer were tucked in tight with the icy conditions where I was at, or else they were just hiding someplace else.

Run2catch thank you. I only got choked up a few times thinking about it all, headed back up for black Friday fun.

Sadly most of my life has been wasted, but the rest I spent hunting, fishing, and trapping...
