Geezer Doe Season Around The Corner

Looks to be nice cool weather for a change on this early doe season. The last few years has been too warm to hunt deer. I wish all you youngsters and geezers safe and successful harvest.

Taking the wife out Thursday and Friday if need be. I'll let her shoot, and just play guide. After that, Saturday is my turn. The Lifetime Senior Combo license is the best thing they ever came up with, IMO.

The spirit of our day is a soft acceptance of everything—except deep conviction in anything.

I was hunting with the bow this morning and only heard 1 distant shot. It was still so dark there is no way they could have told what they were shooting at?

I'm pretty stoked. My dad hasn't hunted in several years due to knee issues. He and my son will be sitting together Saturday. I'll be able to drive them right to an elevated blind where he doesn't have to worry about walking any distance. My uncle will be in another blind. I'm taking an inline and will sit for a few hours before trying to push deer to them.

I don't have ducks. I don't have rows. I have squirrels. And they're drunk.
