To Members who drew an elk license

Did you get your info packet in the mail from the PGC? Mine came on Saturday. I sent everything back that I needed to except the emergency information form because It is between two places where I am going to take lodging and I don't know which one yet.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Congrats on drawing! Did you draw a bull or cow tag? It will be interesting to see who else drew. It was fun last year reading Kuduís updates as he prepared. Good luck!!

Cow, zone 2. There are several other members who posted that they were drawn, at least 3 1 bull and a couple of cows.

What information do they ask for and why do they ask for it?

I support all hunters, regardless of weapon or technique!

You must verify on one form that you watched the video on the PGC website made for people who drew a tag which provides pertinent information to hunters what to do if you kill an elk, this is required. In the past you had to go to the the building at the elk viewing area and attend a lecture. Next is a release form to give your name and perhaps a photo and your town or area of residence to the media, I did not provide a phone number or an address other than the town, next is a form asking for the address of where you are staying while hunting and a contact phone number and a contact phone number for your next of kin so if there is an emergency they can be contacted, both of these two are optional. The why is pretty evident. Finally you must send a photo copy of your drivers license and your hunting license and your check for $25.00 to pay for your license.

I drew a cow tag for zone 3. I'm wondering who are the reputable guides for that area. Any one with experience in that zone?

I sent back all but the emergency info also as I don't know where I am going to be staying yet. After I mailed the info in their pre-addressed envelope I realized I didn't write down the address to send in the emergency form. Oh-well, it was optional anyway.

Good luck WW!

So coming from MD, the PA licensing system is a little odd to me. I got my packet, but I'm not sure why they need a copy of my PA hunters license....I purchased it through the PALS system, the same as the elk application.

Just seems odd that they wouldn't already have that information.
