Who's headed to Maryland Saturday

Headed down early Saturday morning. Going to hunt public land in the morning. And head to the lease at lunch. It's fun to hunt public land. More of a challenge. More rewarding. Got to put a little more into it. I will carry my climber in to what I think is a good spot. Lots of Hunters coming in from the opposite direction should push things my way right off the bat. It's a bit of a hike and I'll have to work hard to get the deer out if I get one. But for the evening I know the deer on the lease will be pouring into the foodplots unpressured. I'll walk about 50 yards from the truck and climb in a tower stand.

We are headed there as well Saturday. My daughter and I went down last weekend and did some looking around where I always have had some good luck in the past and got the spot ready. Weather looks good for the day and wind direction is looking great where we sit, not many acorns but some sign to make you get excited. Hope she doesn't fall asleep. Good luck to you.

I hunted the Frederick City Watershed property for many years, close to 30. Did very well there and killed a lot of deer, in archery, general firearms and muzzle loader seasons. Afraid I can't climb those mountains anymore, but my heart is with you guy's, have a great hunt.

There will be 4 of us heading down for the opener for the 7th year in a row on state land. It has been by far the worst season we have ever had so not sure what to expect but hoping for the best.
