Have to have the dreaded doe tag.

To apply for the hunt, you must submit via mail by Sept. 1 a standard postcard bearing the following information: your name, mailing address, hunting license number, and WMU 5B antlerless license number.

Mail the card to: PA Game Commission MCWMA, P.O. Box 110, Kleinfeltersville, PA 17039.

They are announcing the hunt now so people can apply for a 5B tag yet. According to the PGC site, there are still 44,000 left.

It's literally surrounded by game lands on all sides. I'll pass.

Will successful applicants still have to quit in the middle of the afternoon?

Been hearing good things about MC, since Swank, Fenstermacher and "Ol' Whatshisname" have assumed management roles there.

Some folks' learnin' curves just look like circles...3A Camp/also hunt 4B

You can hunt all day during the Archery deer hunt, set tree stands etc. It's very Hunter friendly.

I've spent most of my money on Waterfowling, Women and Whiskey.
The rest of my money I just wasted.

I used to hunt in SGL 46 which borders Middle Creek. I killed my first deer ever there, but I haven't hunted there in probably close to 30 years. Even back then the place used to get mobbed. I'd imagine its probably the same today.

You understand that this hunt is INSIDE the controlled access area, right? So....no....it doesn't get mobbed. Basically, no one sets foot in there all year - except for this hunt.

Yes...you are correct. We are talking about maybe 2,500 acres - counting the controlled area and propagation areas combined - of farm fields, woodlots, swamps, etc., where not only is there no general hunting, but people aren't even allowed to walk around in it. So 2,500 acres of ideal deer habitat that sees basically no human traffic of any kind, surrounded by public hunting grounds.
