Deer lease Question

For my hunting friends, would you join a deer lease that limits hunting to three weeks starting the last week of October for archery, the 2 week gun season and then the late muzzle loader season. This is supposed to limit hunting pressure and keep deer on the property when hunters are bumping them in other properties. What are the pros and cons??? Also they have 1 hunter per 100 acres of property. It's a mixture of CRP, woods, fencerows, crops et The property is in the Midwest and 400 acres which means there are 4 members. Any guests must be direct family (children or wife) and must be in the same stand. No still hunting or drives allowed except when attempting to take down a wounded deer with verified blood trail. Cost is $2,000.00 for myself for 2017 season. property next door is 1,000 acres that is no hunting.

I wouldn't without good references for lease holder. It seems overly restrictive and the property owner could hunt the rest of the time without your knowledge

It depends on you, not what I or anyone on this board thinks. Would I spend $666 a week to lease whitetail ground? No. I wouldnt spend $666 a week to lay on a beach in Hawaii either. You are the only one that can answer this question.

Good luck with your decision.

I think you can do better than that. I have a lease in Indiana on 525 acres that permits us to hunt any game, any season, year round. $1,100. 6 guys and no guests at all.

Lots of variables to consider. For me only being able to hunt 3 weeks is too restrictive. Also when looking at leases especially in the mid-west those 400 acres may only have 50 acres of woods and cover and the rest is crop/field. 50 acres of cover is awful small for 4 hunters.

That would be an amazing deal, though.

Lease question

Did I explain this wrong or do people not read???? 3 weeks for bow + 2 weeks of gun + 2 weeks of Muzzle Loader = 7 weeks of hunting total.

You said "would you join a deer lease that limits hunting to three weeks" and then you went on to list the seasons. It made it seem like you got a total of 3 weeks.

Do you have an aerial photograph of the property?
