Southeast people, are you going out tomorrow?

So every saturday I usually get up and start driving toward PA at around 2:30-3:00. Forecast for tomorrow says 55% chance of rain between 5 - 9 a.m. Also says wind will be blowing between 13-23 mph. I know unless the rain is crazy it usually wont effect them moving, but I hear with the wind its 50/50 and makes it much more difficult even if they are moving so I'd like to hear some opinions.
Should I go out tomorrow? If it was within 30 minutes of me I would without question. I just don't want to wakeup at 3 a.m, take the two hour trip paying for gas and tolls just to sit in the rain pointlessly all day.
I definitely believe in the whole "you don't catch anything staying at home" and I also believe even if the chances are very low, they overall raise my chances of taking something this season, but im still 50/50 here.
Opinions?

Re: Southeast people, are you going out tomorrow?

Where will you be hunting? I think the rain should be gone in the morning where we will be Sullivan. It will be windy and cold. I like the cold for deer movement, but could do without the wind. I think the wind makes them skittish, but we are getting into late October, so the bucks may still be on the move. I only get so many days to hunt, so I try to get out every Saturday, no matter the weather.

I would probably still go, but maybe not get up at 3:00am. Plan to arrive at 9:00am, when the rain will be gone and then hunt the rest of the day. Might get some good movement when the rain finally stops.

Re: Southeast people, are you going out tomorrow?

Just made the decision to hunt at home instead of driving to Sullivan county. Rain in the am, and 20-30 mph winds with 40 mph gusts no thanks. Taking the whole last week off so it don't hurt as bad!

Camp life,it don't get much better!

Wish I could. We can hunt sundays here and I got my tags but only for the chance I end up going with one of friends and using there properly . We do have public land but asides for usually requiring all sorts of permits and other hoops to jump through to hunt, if you stay close to the city all the good places get packed. Anything I don't consider close is 3-5 hours out so it makes it hard to scout

You mean off work or hunting? If work, I've been dying too but I figure I'll save my vacation days for the rut

Just remember pheasant opens tomorrow. If I recall from your previous threads you are hunting at nockamixion if that is the case set yourself up to use the pheasant hunters to your advantage and don't forget your orange. And btw the s word is Sunday for Sunday hunting.
