Doe with bulging sides...

I saw a doe with her sides bulging a little while ago. I was taking my brother out to dig some leeks I found during turkey season, and she was walking across the field toward us. I think she was heading for long grass to birth her fawns. I hope we didn't send her to a spot where she was hoping to avoid predators.

I forgot my camera, or I would have gotten a good photo of her.

Cool. But what're really shocking, is that you can still dig leeks up there in June.

June is the best time if you want to transplant them. They're already going dormant, so the leaves have disappeared, but you can see a few flower stems. As long as you know where they are, you can dig up all you want.
