Coming Attractions : The New Deer Drives

Caused on Opening Day. When the hunters, in the first couple of hours, realize they forgot one of their favorite electronic gizmo, and stir up the neighboring deer, by moving out of the woods to get it.

That's why I push, drive, set around lunch time. Find a nice spot and stay put from 9:00 to 11:00 move to different spot and set again. Best time in some areas are when the kids get home after school on a nice day. Or guys get home after work.

Re: Coming Attractions : The New Deer Drives

That's always been my favorite time of opening day....

I see more deer on cold and/or wet openers because I setup for hunter movement.. I typically pack food and water and don't plan to leave my spot till a buck has my tag on it or its dark...

This year I was on a highly pressured game lands and was shocked there wasn't a single truck on the road when I got out....I even left a few minutes early knowing I had a hike..

A lot of guys "at camp" seem to leave the woods completely by 3pm or so to pack up and head back home..

If I forget my cell phone or MP3 player, I get up and wander around the woods to go get it.

Hunting: 10% skill and 90% location.
