Doe Tag required for driving doe?

Does a hunter pushing/driving anterless deer require to have an anterless tag in the special reg area? Couldnt find anything about this in the hunters digest.

Check out Page 23 under Organized Drives. That should provide you the clarification you need.

I am pretty sure you can participate in the drive. But not carry a weapon if you have you regular hunting license on you and proper flo orange.

I don't think that is correct ?? it states you can drive if you NEVER had a hunting license anywhere ,and also must stay in sight of the hunter ?
perhaps others can comment

Re: Doe Tag required for driving doe?

Right that addresses a non-licensed hunter participating in a drive. The section does not address a licensed hunter that does not have a tag participating in an organized drive.

I would think a licensed hunter could participate in an organized drive if they did not have a valid unused tag as long as said hunter follows the orange requirements and does not carry a weapon.

Re: Doe Tag required for driving doe?

The digest is about as clear as mud on this issue of a licensed hunter participating in a drive if they do not have tag. I would call the GC and ask your question.

So who is going out to recruit non licensed people to do drives? Pay them 10hr to stomp thru jaggers..big 25 man driving groups.

Re: Doe Tag required for driving doe?

if you're specifically asking about a tag, the answer is no. you can obviously have already killed a doe and not have a tag, but participate in a drive.

you do, however, need a valid license for the hunt in which you are participating. ie. you can't drive during bear season without a bear license.

They gotten away with it for many many years.
