Butcher Shop Data Base

Seems like it would be a good idea, any one know if one exists somewhere? Many of the shops are smaller places that get most of their advertising from word of mouth. And their numbers seem to be dwindling.........

I kill because I'm hunting, but killing is not the reason I go hunting.

Re: Butcher Shop Data Base

FWIW, that map/list in the link is virtually useless for anyone in 2F, 2G and lots of other areas. I can think of a handful of cutters/butchers and not a one of them is on the list....these are places I personally know of. These are places that are currently in business. I don't use any of them as I butcher my own. I can think of others, but they may no longer be in business or are pop-up deer cutters that aren't open until rifle season. I'm certain there's many more as this is basically a sampling of places between Warren (where I live) and Shippenville (where I hunt).

Sluggers, Fryburg, PA (real butcher shop)
O'neals, Marianne, PA (real butcher shop)
Chads & Dad's, Leeper, PA (status unknown/deer cutter)
Wile's, Warren, PA (real butcher shop)
Fars, Youngsville, PA (status unknown/deer cutter)
Red & White, Leeper, PA (real butcher shop)

No need to apologize. I was just pointing out that there's lots missing and added a few known in this area. It is a good starting point....just not for this particular area.

Re: Butcher Shop Data Base

Yes, there are some in my area that are not listed. But it's the best list I've seen so far.
Cooks in Halifax - 17032

Yeah it's a start, didn't think it was all inclusive. But it's a good idea, and should probably become a permanent post in the Game Processing forum.

Last I heard (couple months ago) Chad's and Dad's is going to be closing down. Something to do with a family illness.
