Rutting already?

I caught side of some deer this morning running around in circles. Then they took off and ran behind my ladder stand, a doe full tilt and a small buck right behind her. 10 minutes later they were back and he was definitely chasing does.

Thank God I'm an American, and not a democrat!

Yep. There are does that come into estrous early in the season. The rut last 5 months give or take. The peak of the rut is what most think of when they talk about the rut.

An archer shoots his targets as far as he can. A bowhunter shoots his target as close as possible.

Re: Rutting already?

I went to check a couple stands and do some trimming yesterday before the rain and found 5 scrapes in a 100 yards. torn up pretty good with plenty of track and marks in them.
