Bear signs and cameras

I have a ton of bear sign on the front lawn of my cabin. Other then just to see it, is there a point to setting a camera up? Do they usually linger from summer to fall or will be gone soon?

One way to find out, and it can't hurt. Hang a camera. And be sure to show us the photos!

Yeah, you never know how long they're going to hang around but ya may as well try to get some pics as long as it's there. Never hurts to try and it'd be cool to have them. Good luck.

I just wouldn't do something like trying to feed it to keep it around.

make sure your hands are clean when you hang that camera. Bears love to chew cameras! especially ones that smell like a sandwich

Yep, some bears sure do seem to have a camera fetish. Many a camera has been damaged and even destroyed by bears. It isnít at all uncommon to have them smash them off the tree or chew them up. Around here a lot of guys build bear cages, made of good steel, to put up around their cameras.

I'll be up in the next 2 weeks. Going by the size I don't think it's too big but I'll try and get pictures.
