Quebec Fly In Moose hunting

Anyone do this? Looks like its pretty cost effective. Outfitter recommendation?

Depending on the area its either 1 per 2 hunters or 1 per three hunters.

IMO a long way to go for one hunter in your group to shoot a moose. Newfie was my choice and the hunting was incredible. Good huntin'

Also, those float planes can be very expensive! I'd look into Maine and not have to deal with customs and guns, and a chance for everyone in the group to get one. I believe its one moose for two hunters and only every other year bull moose are legal - rotates with cows and calves.

Maine would be tough to get a tag. Not many NR tags given, and allocations are getting cut further do to winter tick deprivation. We hunted bear there 5 times, always saw a lot of moose. Saw some every day. Talked with the outfitter at Harrisburg that we used to hunt bear with; he said I would be shocked to see how few moose they are seeing now.

Re: Quebec Fly In Moose hunting

I just did a lot of research on moose hunting and decided on Newfie as big28 said. We booked a trophy moose area and all 3 in my party will get tags. Having the guarantee tags was our driving factor as well as poor references for hunts in quebec. Most places in quebec that I researched specialize in bear hunting and fishing, and just do moose for the regulars. Good luck and keep us posted

Re: Quebec Fly In Moose hunting

Good luck Bucky VA! Newfie is a special place and I hope to get back there again. Looking forward to pics of big bulls. I also saw a lot of bears when I was there and all three in my party took one. Just a suggestion but I'd get a bear tag. Seen one that was pushing 600 pounds. Good huntin'
