The Next Archery State Record Typical

After years of searching I’ve finally found the next state record whitetail. I have him figured out pretty well. Crossbows sighted in for 150 max. I figure I’ll get a shot at him soon. Hopefully this weekend I can get an arrow in him some how. I mean, it doesn’t have to be lethal. I’ll just have to find him before the new year and it’ll still count.

This made me laugh. I still find it pretty ridiculous that the state record archery deer is one that wasn't recovered until months later and was 1/2 decomposed and eaten.

Wasn't a legitimate record in my mind it's just a credibility hit on the agency that claimed it was.

There's the full story. I'm 50/50 on whether or not he should have been awarded the record..He does have PLENTY of evidence though...

I love big bucks as much as anyone but don't generally get wrapped up in "scores" and "books" but this kind of feels like a tainted record to me. I don't even doubt his story it just doesn't feel like a legit record.

Your XBow is sighted in for 150 yards?? or did you mean 15 yards and your shot doesn't have to be lethal ? Am I missing something here?

I sure hope so, 150 yards with a crossbow is flat out stupidity! I just read the post again and I suspect it is lampooning the state record that is still pending.
