Yeah, I hope some time in the future Sportsmans Warehouse buys out the F&S in Dickson City too. But that's good that they are starting to buy out the anti gun, gun stores.
Myself and a lot of people I know stopped shopping there after all of the political/gun debate debacle, I cant remember the last item(s) I bought from there. Either way, I hope new ownership listens to their customers.
Long after I quit going to {Bleeps} they opened a new F&S near here. Really liked that store, then the parent company went full nutso on firearms, so never set foot in F&S again, either.
If the Camp Hill F&S store is part of this deal, then it might draw me back?
I'll go back to the Camp Hill store if they cut their ties with Dick's. I got a set of Summit cable shrink tubes in there for like $14 something, when they first opened. Hope they stay competitive with prices.
The Sportsman's Warehouse that I was familiar with was the store north of Pittsburgh off Nebo road, I think it was called. They had loads of stuff. I thought it was like a Cabelas without the -- fluff and better prices. I got a lot of stuff there. If I remember, they got ripped pretty bad in the Great Recession of 2008. A loan got called and they had to liquidate most of their stores.
I hope they bring the approach that they had to Field and Stream.
Heard from a person that works at the Altoona store, Oct 10 is the cut over date. Supposedly the admins want the store to be closed for less than 10 days to get everything in order before opening to the public. Also, I heard that once F&S employees heard about the stores decision to stop selling certain firearms and decided to get caught up in all the political stuff, 5 employees walked out, they quit. So apparently the F&S store employees were even fed up with the corporate decisions.
Just wish somebody would build a Store in my area in Bucks Co.
Their are a lot of Sportsman in the area and the only choice is Dicks. Unless you want to drive an hour and half one way.
I do a lot of on line ordering but when it comes to Boots and Clothing I want to try them on.
There is a Huge Market here and nobody wants to tap into it.
Looks like Gander Outdoors is going under too or at least the one in Dickson City, View Mount Mall is. I don't know about over head and cost of operation all that much but I do know that sportsmen aren't going to pay them ridiculous high prices that these mall stores want.
First time I was in a RK store was out in Clearfield on my way back from Grices and they had good prices on everything in the store. My buddy bought a new Taurus G2C 9mm for $169.00 on sale.
They had a store in North hills of PGH. Then closed it. Would be nice if they reopened one in the immediate PGH area. But then again I own to much stuff
