I had to miss all four opening days while I was in college. My last exams before finals and finals themselves were always the two weeks after Thanksgiving. #$%^$ Pitt!!!!!! I would have been happy to have a Saturday opener then, and have no problem with it now. Get over it.
Your comments simply prove my point. you missed all four of the deer season opener’s while you were in college yet amazingly you still buy a license today.

I am against the change but it will not really affect me that much. Doing this without passing Sunday hunting is dumb and really makes me wonder what the PGC was thinking. If they really want to get younger hunters they would allow semi autos. The AR platform is the most popular rifle in the country right now with approx. 230 manufacturers. I probably would not use one , but a lot of guys would love to take their tacticool rifle for a walk in the woods even if it is with a 5 round magazine

To the hunters on this site that are happy with the change ,you got what you wanted, respect other people's traditions and stop rubbing their faces in it.

To you guys who supported the decision, I tried sending an email to PGC today and it said they were not accepting emails. SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE, that know what they did and don’t want to hear it from hunters!!!

This has nothing to due about tradition with camps, college kids, family , whatever. This is a desperate move for MONEY, PGC does nothing for the hunters or resources they are to manage. Hunting is a dying sport and will continue to decline no matter what they do. They killed the youth hunters when they went on that rampage of doe killing. Now they want to try n get more hunters n youth. No kid is going to go out for 8 hrs to see nothing. They created the system which will kill them in time, the PGC and PFC will merge to save each other. As far as this Saturday start goes, I can adjust. Personally I hunt hard the last 4 days of the season. Just my .02.

That may be the single most ridiculous statement I've ever read on this Site. Is this how far we've fallen as Sportsmen? We wouldn't even still have hunting today if not for the PGC. Our stupid forefathers were busy wiping out everything in this State when the PGC was formed in 1895.

And all this thread and others like it continue to prove to me is that the PA woods is obviously filled with crybabies. More so than I've seen from other States.

I forget which of these threads it was on but I like the hunter that said "I'll go up to camp Friday, hunt Saturday, trout fish on Sunday and hunt again on Monday. It'll be my new tradition." I have no idea if he was for or against the change but regardless he realizes it's not the end of the world or "murdering tradition" or whatever hyperbole some people drummed up.

I also think too that if Sunday hunting becomes a reality that the camps will see some new life and a boost in enthusiasm. I think some of the local economies will see an uptick too and for more than one or two weekends. Look I get the added logistics pressure of the quicker turn around from Thanksgiving to Opening Day. It's definitely going to be an adjustment but I think after a couple years, and with Sunday hunting, most hunters are going to actually enjoy the change.
