22 cal. air rifle for Squirrel

What would be a good 22 cal. air rifle, priced under or around $200 and is there a special scope I should buy?

I have a Break Barrel Crossman Nitro Venom Dusk in 177 cal. and it shoots great, it came with a 3x9 center Point scope. They also come in 22 cal. in wood or black synthetic stocks. I have had mine for 4yrs now and with well over 1500 rounds out of it with no problems. They go anywhere from 170 to 190 dollars. I bought mine at Dunham`s....Check out the reviews on them, that is why I decided to buy one.....Good Luck with whatever kind you decide on....

I had heard a long time ago that air rifles needed a specific air rifle scope. Regular rifle scopes were not made to handle the "recoil" of an air rifle, which was apparently much different than a firearm. I would imagine that modern rifle scopes might not have that problem, but I don't know. The ability to focus at close range is also a consideration.

Take a look on airgundepot.com. They have tons of guns. You have a lot of choices in springers and nitro piston under $200. PCP guns are a bit more. Benjamin, hatsan, and gamo are good brands. Make sure to get an air rifle scope.
