I'm looking to buy an older 336 in .35rem. The price's seem to be high, why??
It means john marlin. Thats what the marlins where stamped infront of the receiver before remington took them over.HowlerDown said:Please forgive my ignorance, but what does JM stand for?
I believe you are right but they are using a black oxide type finish like on the newer H&R Handi rifles. Myself, I like blued/walnut stocked guns, like the older 336 and 1895 Marlins had.Jericho said:I handled a new Marlin 336 carbine with a laminated stock recently. Metal finish reminded me of a Remington 700SPS, kind of a parkerized feel and look.
