AR-15 buuild question

recently purchached a kit from palmetto arms and bought a stripped lower . question the upper came assembled do i need to check headspace this is a.556

if it ain't broke don't fix it

AR-15 build question

purchased a kit from palmetto arms every thing but stripped lower to build an ar15. got striped lower and assembled gun upper came assembled .do i need to check for head space ??

did it come with a Bolt Carrier group?
if so most uppers that come assembled with it are head spaced.. i would toss them an email just to CYA

Not inless you are installing the extension on the barrel. If your buying a barrel it 99% has the extension installed, accept rh bcg and m4 feed ramps

Agree with Mattg1500. Most all barrels come with the extension already installed. There is no need to check headspace.

5.56 doesn't need to be checked, but I would check anything else like 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, and 7.62x39 for starters.
